Lookout summer 0f 1938   Bright Eye scow is in the background    see mast and forward boom the boat to the left is our shad boat before WW2 we sent a crew up the Hudson every spring to gill net for shad one  man would row while the other man set out the net    the two men would retrieve the net and ungill the fish       there were some shacks at Piermont N.J. where they could sleep or was it N.Y.?   During the war the submarine nets across New York Harbor kept the shad in the lower bay
